What began as an attempt to find the ideal qualities of a thinking cap so that I could fashion one for myself became a study of the ways in which anything potentially headfaring conditioned my thinking.
I was interested in how the Thinking Cap is thought to engender thinking (and thus it follows that a particularly good thinking cap would engender good or bountiful thoughts and a green thinking cap, green thoughts, and a bumpy thinking cap… ). I was also interested in the “cap,” the final flourish, the stoppage, the penultimate point, the moment when thinking self-extinguishes.
