The only stipulation this London-based art gallery gave us was that their new website could not be green. Obviously, we thought, it should be red.
Conceived as an art parsing machine,
Green Grassi's new website features current and past exhibitions and hosts an array of art in an upfront and tangible way. It is easy to see and easy to arrange. A pin-up feature lets visitors make exhibits on their desktops.
READ MOREGreen Grassi decidedly did not want an identity. So, we did not worry with a typographic lock-up of the name, a signature type treatment, or a color palette. But, the website, in it's behaviors and the liberties it affords, is an arm of the gallery whose workings speak to analogue parallels and provincial predilections. More people should opt for machines instead of logos.
